Become A New Driver (BAND) Program

August 2017 – First apprentice completes TKTL’s new “Become A New Driver” (BAND) Program. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career as a professional truck operator. Successful candidates begin as an apprentice, gaining valuable experience at TKTL in and around trucks, trailers and loads. Successful apprentices complete a MELT approved truck driving school course, obtain their AZ license and start full time employment to begin their journey of becoming a professional truck operator.

Ontario College of Trades Apprenticeship Update

Summer 2017 – Congratulations to Gary for the successful completion of the Ontario College of Trades Apprenticeship Training Standard for Tractor Trailer Commercial Driver, Trade Code 638A. In addition to the apprenticeship certificate, Gary will receive a $2,000 cash grant.

High Marks on CVOR Audit

January 2017 – Voluntary MTO CVOR audit successfully completed with TKTL receiving an overall score of 98.78%. Congratulations to all TKTL staff for helping meet this important company milestone.

TKTL now 100% Electronic Logbook Compliant!

In September 2015, TKTL completed its fleet Electronic Log transition project.  This 3 month project involved installing E-Log units in all trucks and training all drivers on E-Log use.  Moving from paper to E-Logs promotes a safe, compliant workplace and reduces driver paperwork.
